Order Picker

Job Summary:
The Picker is responsible for locating, selecting, and preparing items from warehouse inventory according to order requests. This role requires accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while following safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Pick products or components based on order lists or handheld scanner instructions.
• Verify item numbers, quantities, and product quality before packing.
• Organize and stage picked items for packing or shipping.
• Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks or carts (forklift certification may be required for some roles).
• Maintain accurate inventory records by scanning items into the warehouse management system.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations.
• Report inventory discrepancies or damaged products to supervisors.
• Meet daily productivity and accuracy targets.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous warehouse or picking experience is an advantage but not always required.
• Basic computer and barcode scanner skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and stand or walk for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Familiarity with inventory control processes.
• Good communication and time management skills.
• Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
