    Primary Responsibilities

    The Operations Systems Lead will support the implementation, optimization, and integration of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Order Management Systems (OMS) solutions within our distribution operations. This role requires a deep understanding of warehouse automation, order fulfillment processes, and system capabilities to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve inventory accuracy. This position involves cross-functional collaboration, project leadership, and mentoring of system analysts.     Essential Functions

    DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Serve as the primary functional lead on WMS initiatives, including new implementations, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
    • Implement and optimize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Order Management Systems (OMS) for KeHE’s distribution operations.
    • Gather and document detailed business requirements by working closely with warehouse operations, supply chain, and IT teams.
    • Translate operational needs into functional specifications and partner with technical teams and vendors to deliver solutions.
    • Lead or participate in system configuration, testing (SIT/UAT), training, and go-live support.
    • Act as the subject matter expert for WMS processes such as receiving, put-away, picking, packing, shipping, inventory management, and labor tracking.
    • Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes and drive standardization across distribution centers.
    • Monitor system performance and resolve functional issues in collaboration with support teams.
    • Provide end-user training and develop documentation to support knowledge transfer.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support integration with ERP, TMS, and other supply chain systems.
    • Foster cross-functional engagement with Sales, Purchasing, and Transportation to improve overall supply chain performance.
    • Develop comprehensive business requirement documents and conduct gap analysis for system enhancements.
    • Ensure ongoing system stability, data accuracy, and continuous process improvements.
    • Other duties and projects as assigned.

     

    SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

    • Basic understanding of transportation, warehousing, supply-chain execution software and third-party logistics.
    • 15-25% travel required.
    • Proven track record leading WMS projects from concept through execution of Tier 1 WMS applications.
    • Strong understanding of warehouse operations and supply chain processes.
    • Having implementation & hands on experience on Manhattan Active WMS is a big plus.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
    • Experience with WMS configuration and testing, and ability to write functional specifications.
    • Talent communicating effectively both orally and in writing with people at all organizational levels.
    • Ability to effectively manage a wide variety of tasks simultaneously and often with time conflicting pressures.
    • Demonstrated ability to work productively and effectively as part of a team.

     


    Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • A Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration is preferred. Equivalent experience may also be considered.
    • Minimum 5+ years of experience working in a Distribution Center as a Warehouse Supervisor or Manager.
