About the Role:Â
The Distribution Center Supervisor is responsible for leading daily warehouse and distribution operations in a fast-paced startup environment. This role oversees receiving, inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping, and employee performance while helping establish processes, procedures, and best practices that support growth, efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in an evolving environment, drives accountability, and continuously improves operational performance.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily distribution center activities including receiving, put-away, inventory control, picking, packing, and shipping.
- Ensure customer orders are processed accurately and shipped on time.
- Monitor workflow and labor allocation to maximize productivity and efficiency.
- Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks and process issues.
- Assist with developing and implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Schedule staffing levels based on operational demands.
- Address employee concerns and support employee engagement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company policies.
- Investigate workplace incidents and implement corrective measures in partnership with the Safety Manager.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Prior experience in warehouse packing or logistics operations
- Previous lead or supervisory experience leading teams of 20 or more hourly associates
- Strong safety mindset with proven experience enforcing safety protocols in receiving or warehouse operations.
- Tier One WMS experience required; Blue Yonder experience is a plus.
- Experience in automated, fast-paced facilities.Â
Skills:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Lean/Six Sigma methodologies a plus
- Mathematical skills to perform basic functions and calculations
- Good communication skills
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds regularly
- Strong organization and accuracy capabilities
- Detail-oriented, and professional
