Description:

We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team and encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds. We are seeking a talented and motivated PLC Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for for installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing PLC-controlled automated equipment and control systems. This role ensures production equipment operates efficiently, minimizes downtime, and supports continuous improvement initiatives. You will be responsible for the electrical, instrumentation, control and process equipment requirements on high-speed filling and packaging equipment, Equipment Component prep, sterilization tunnels and ovens, process support systems and vision systems. Perform troubleshooting of high-performance production equipment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, program, maintain, and troubleshoot PLC systems and automated machinery.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic system issues.
  • Monitor and optimize machine performance to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production equipment.
  • Modify PLC programs as needed to support process improvements and operational requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain HMI (Human Machine Interface), VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), sensors, and industrial communication networks.
  • Support equipment installation, commissioning, and startup activities.
  • Maintain documentation of repairs, modifications, and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to resolve technical issues.

 

Qualifications:

  • High School education and Certificate of completion from 2-3 years electrical/instrumentation trade or technical school desired.
  • Minimum five (5) years maintenance experience maintaining and troubleshooting high-speed equipment, instrumentation and troubleshooting process.
  • 3+ years of experience working with PLC-controlled equipment in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial control systems, electrical troubleshooting, and automation equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Proficiency with HMI systems, VFDs, servo drives, and industrial networking.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on all assigned equipment.
  • Maintains electronic equipment, maintenance logs and documentation in accordance with SOP and cGMP guidelines.
  • Maintains the documentation of all in-house instrumentation including PMs.
  • Provides technical support to other plant departments.
  • Uses electronics, instruments and controls to perform system analysis of system equipment.
  • Maintains electronic test and repair equipment in a high state of readiness.
  • Must be able to work shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • Assist in set-ups, changeovers and start-up adjustments of equipment as necessary.
  • Performs other duties as directed by management personnel.
  • Must be able to be gowned qualified and maintain gowning status.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • cGMP's experience a plus

 

Compensation:

Hourly Rate: $36.00 per hour. The compensation for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, work location, prior experience and job-related knowledge, relevant skills and expertise, current business needs, and market factors. The Talent Acquisition team can provide more details about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.
