What You'll Do
The Youth Support Worker provides direct care, supervision, and support to adolescents ages 14–21 in a therapeutic residential setting. This role helps create a safe, structured, and supportive environment where youth can develop skills, build confidence, and work toward their individual goals.
Your responsibilities may include:
Resident Care & Supervision
Provide direct care and support for up to five residents.
Maintain a safe, supervised, and structured residential environment.
Build positive and meaningful relationships with residents.
Support youth through daily challenges with patience and understanding.
Daily Living & Treatment Support
Assist with meal preparation and daily living activities.
Provide transportation to appointments, activities, and community outings.
Assist with implementing individualized treatment plans.
Support positive behavior management strategies.
Documentation & Team Collaboration
Maintain accurate resident records, progress notes, and incident reports.
Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development activities.
Collaborate with team members to provide consistent therapeutic care.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
One of the following is required:
High school diploma or equivalent with one year of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in a group setting; or
Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a non-social work or psychology field with six months of I/DD group-setting experience; or
Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
Requirements
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Valid driver's license required.
Must successfully complete:
Physical screening
Drug screening
Criminal Record History Clearance
FBI Clearance
Child Abuse History Clearance
Skills & Competencies
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build meaningful relationships with residents, families, and team members.
Understanding of autism, intellectual, and developmental disabilities preferred.
Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
Ability to assist with daily living activities and behavior support strategies.
