What You'll Do

The Youth Support Worker provides direct care, supervision, and support to adolescents ages 14–21 in a therapeutic residential setting. This role helps create a safe, structured, and supportive environment where youth can develop skills, build confidence, and work toward their individual goals.

Your responsibilities may include:

Resident Care & Supervision

  • Provide direct care and support for up to five residents.

  • Maintain a safe, supervised, and structured residential environment.

  • Build positive and meaningful relationships with residents.

  • Support youth through daily challenges with patience and understanding.

Daily Living & Treatment Support

  • Assist with meal preparation and daily living activities.

  • Provide transportation to appointments, activities, and community outings.

  • Assist with implementing individualized treatment plans.

  • Support positive behavior management strategies.

Documentation & Team Collaboration

  • Maintain accurate resident records, progress notes, and incident reports.

  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development activities.

  • Collaborate with team members to provide consistent therapeutic care.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

One of the following is required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with one year of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in a group setting; or

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a non-social work or psychology field with six months of I/DD group-setting experience; or

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

  • Valid driver's license required.

  • Must successfully complete:

    • Physical screening

    • Drug screening

    • Criminal Record History Clearance

    • FBI Clearance

    • Child Abuse History Clearance

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to build meaningful relationships with residents, families, and team members.

  • Understanding of autism, intellectual, and developmental disabilities preferred.

  • Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.

  • Ability to assist with daily living activities and behavior support strategies.

Full-Time

Shifts Available:

  • Tuesday–Saturday: 3:00 PM–11:00 PM
  • Sunday–Thursday: 3:00 PM–11:00 PM
  • Sunday–Thursday: 11:00 PM–7:00 AM
