Job Description:
Employment Specialist Part-Time聽
Primary Responsibilities:聽To coordinate and provide services that prepare individuals with disabilities for successful entry into the workforce.
聽Specific Responsibilities:聽
The Employment Specialist provides Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) and Supported Employment, which may include the following responsibilities:
. Conduct initial intake to access client鈥檚 education, work history, work interests, aptitudes and to clarify employment or transition goals.
路 Assist client with development of resume and interviewing skills聽
路聽Conduct situational assessments and community based evaluations to identify strengths, skills challenges and employment goals/career pathways.
路 Engage in job development activities.聽
. Provide initial job coaching and support for individuals with disabilities at the worksite聽
路 Assist with job coaching substitute coverage as a member of the Supported Employment team聽
路Maintain ongoing communication with employer, client, and family to monitor client鈥檚 employment performance and progress聽
路聽Discuss and report progress to Supported Employment Program Manager
路聽Maintain monthly contact with referring DVRS/DDD Counselor/Transition Counselor
路聽Maintain accurate, timely and compliant case documentation as mandated by New Jersey Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services and Division of Developmental Disabilities.
路 Maintain documentation in compliance with JFCS requirements聽
Qualifications:聽
路 Bachelors degree in psychology, sociology, counseling or related field and/or two years experience in social service field聽
路 Ability to interact with clients, families, employers, and professional staff in a compassionate and professional manner聽
路 Valid driver鈥檚 license, registration, insurance, and good driving record聽
