What You'll Do
The Youth Support Worker plays a vital role in providing a safe, structured, and supportive residential environment for adolescents ages 14–21. Working as part of a therapeutic team, you'll help guide residents through daily challenges while encouraging personal growth and independence.
Your responsibilities may include:
Resident Care & Supervision
Provide direct care and supervision for up to five residents.
Ensure a safe, supportive, and structured living environment.
Build positive, trusting relationships with residents.
Daily Living Support
Assist with meal preparation and daily routines.
Transport residents to appointments, school, recreational activities, and community outings.
Encourage independence and healthy life skills.
Treatment & Behavioral Support
Assist with implementing individualized treatment plans.
Support residents using positive behavior management techniques.
Collaborate with clinicians and team members to provide consistent care.
Documentation & Communication
Maintain accurate progress notes, incident reports, and resident documentation.
Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and treatment team members.

Qualifications
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent with one year of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in a group setting; or
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a non-social work field with six months of I/DD group-setting experience; or
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
Requirements:
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Valid New Jersey driver's license.
Ability to successfully complete physical and drug screening, criminal background check, FBI fingerprinting, and child abuse clearances.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with adolescents.
Knowledge of autism, intellectual, and developmental disabilities is a plus.
Ability to remain calm and composed during challenging situations.
Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
Schedule
Sub/Per Diem Position
Minimum of 16 hours per month
Must be available to work all shifts:
7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
