Description


We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Level II Auto/Diesel Technician to join

our team. As a Level II Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and

maintaining automotive and diesel vehicles. You will work with a variety of vehicles,

including trucks, and heavy-duty equipment. Your expertise in automotive and diesel

systems, coupled with your strong problem-solving skills, will be essential in delivering high quality service and ensuring customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate should have a passion for automotive technology, excellent technical knowledge, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.


Responsibilities:


  • Perform complex diagnostic tests on automotive and diesel vehicles to identify issues and determine appropriate repair solutions.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and analysis of vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, braking systems, and fuel systems.
  • Repair and replace faulty components, such as engines, transmissions, fuel injectors, brakes, and suspension systems, using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
  • Utilize computerized diagnostic equipment and software to troubleshoot and pinpoint vehicle malfunctions.
  • Follow manufacturer guidelines and specifications for repair procedures, ensuring compliance with quality standards and safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs performed, including parts used, labor hours, and diagnostic findings.
  • Communicate effectively with service advisors and customers, explaining repairs needed and providing cost estimates for services.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in automotive technology and repair techniques through ongoing training and professional development.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
  • Assist and mentor junior technicians as needed, providing guidance and support in complex repair procedures.


Requirements

Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a recognized automotive/diesel technician program preferred.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience as an automotive technician, specializing in diesel vehicles.
  • Solid understanding of automotive and diesel systems, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and computerized controls.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment, including computerized diagnostic software, multimeters, and scan tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex mechanical issues.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and practices when working with automotive and diesel equipment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in diagnosing and repairing vehicles.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize work effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to nontechnical individuals.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • ASE certifications or other relevant certifications preferred.
