Marketing Manager

Ascendent Health Partners

At Ascendent Health Partners, we believe healthcare is about human connection, not transactions.

We support dental practices that are committed to exceptional clinical care, trusted relationships, and creating experiences where patients feel seen, heard, and valued. Our mission is to empower healers and educators to provide patients with world-class care and achieve optimal health.

We’re looking for a Marketing Manager who can take meaningful ownership of how Ascendent and our partner practices grow, communicate, and connect with patients and communities.

This is not a role for someone who wants to wait for a detailed checklist. We’re looking for someone who can take a goal, build a plan, move the work forward, measure the outcome, and improve the approach. We think learning fast, staying curious, and always improving are preferable to the 7th version of a plan.

You’ll be responsible for managing marketing initiatives across Ascendent and our supported practices, with a focus on strong execution, clear communication, thoughtful brand stewardship, and measurable business impact.

What You’ll Own

  • Develop and execute marketing plans for Ascendent and our partner dental practices
  • Manage campaigns across digital, social, email, website, local marketing, and other relevant channels
  • Build and maintain marketing calendars, project plans, and campaign timelines
  • Create and oversee content that reflects the voice, values, and personality of each practice
  • Coordinate photography, video, design, written content, and other creative work
  • Manage outside vendors, agencies, and freelancers when appropriate
  • Monitor campaign performance and turn data into clear recommendations and next steps
  • Advocate for your great ideas to improve patient acquisition, retention, referrals, and community awareness
  • Partner with doctors and practice leaders to understand local growth opportunities and translate them into practical marketing strategies
  • Maintain brand consistency while respecting the individual identity of each supported practice
  • Improve systems, processes, and reporting so the marketing function becomes more effective as Ascendent grows
  • Take responsibility for projects from idea through execution, measurement, and follow-up

What Success Looks Like

We’re looking for someone who can make the marketing function better, not simply keep it moving.

Success in this role means:

  • Projects are organized, communicated clearly, and completed on time
  • Marketing priorities are tied to real business and patient goals
  • Campaigns are measured, evaluated, and improved rather than simply launched
  • Doctors and practice leaders see marketing as a reliable, thoughtful partner
  • Our brands feel authentic, consistent, and differentiated
  • Good ideas turn into action
  • Problems are identified early and brought forward with possible solutions
  • Growth does not come at the expense of trust, quality, or the patient experience

What We’re Looking For

A strong candidate will likely have:

  • 3+ years of marketing experience, ideally with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Experience independently managing campaigns or marketing programs
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities at once
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Experience with digital marketing, social media, email marketing, websites, or paid media
  • Comfort reviewing marketing data, identifying trends, and making recommendations based on results
  • Strong judgment and attention to detail
  • The ability to work effectively with executives, doctors, practice leaders, vendors, and team members
  • A track record of taking ownership and following through without needing constant direction
  • The confidence to make recommendations, explain your reasoning, and adjust when the data says something different
  • A willingness to learn new tools, systems, and channels as the organization grows

Experience in healthcare, dentistry, multi-location businesses, local marketing, or service-based organizations is helpful but not required.

We care more about whether you can think clearly, execute consistently, and take responsibility for outcomes than whether your background fits a perfect template.

The Kind of Person Who Will Thrive Here

You take ownership.
You don’t stop at identifying a problem. You think about what should happen next and help make it happen.

You care about the details without losing the bigger picture.
Strong marketing requires both. You should be able to catch a typo in an ad and also ask whether we should be running the campaign at all.

You communicate clearly.
You keep people informed, raise issues early, set expectations, and don’t let projects quietly drift.

You are comfortable being accountable.
Some ideas work. Some don’t. We want someone who measures results, learns quickly, and improves rather than looking for someone else to blame.

You have good judgment.
Healthcare marketing requires more than creativity. It requires understanding trust, relationships, reputation, and the responsibility that comes with communicating on behalf of clinical teams.

You are collaborative without being passive.
We want someone who can listen well, work with different personalities, and still move decisions and projects forward.

How Our Values Show Up in Marketing

Our core values are not separate from this role. They should influence how our Marketing Manager makes decisions every day.

Patient Obsession
Marketing should ultimately improve the experience of the people our practices serve. We care about growth, but never at the expense of trust.

Team Empowerment
We hire capable people, give them meaningful responsibility, and expect them to use good judgment. We want your ideas and expect you to bring them forward.

Team Development
We believe strong teams produce exceptional patient care. We expect our leaders and managers to keep learning and to help the people around them become better.

Relationship Driven
We are not interested in transactional healthcare or transactional marketing. We want to build trust with patients, doctors, teams, and communities over time.

Golden Rule Patient Care
We do what is best for patients, even when it is difficult, and treat them the way we would want to be treated.

Golden Rule Team Care
We hold a high standard while treating one another with respect, generosity, and consideration.

Doctor Clinical Autonomy
The relationship between a provider and patient is sacred. Marketing exists to support that relationship, never to interfere with clinical decision-making.

Why Ascendent Health Partners?

Ascendent Health Partners was built around the belief that private-practice dentistry can grow without sacrificing clinical autonomy, human connection, or the relationships that make great healthcare possible.

Our support organization exists to help doctors and dental teams thrive in a private practice setting, without the drag or demands of a private equity sponsor.

For the right Marketing Manager, that creates an unusual opportunity: you’ll have room to build, improve, experiment, and make a visible impact as the organization grows.

We are results oriented. We value initiative. We want people who care about the quality of their work and are comfortable being trusted with real responsibility.

If that sounds like the kind of environment where you do your best work, we’d love to hear from you!
