Purpose of this Job

  • The Staff Accountant’s primary role is to ensure the financial health and regulatory compliance of the organization and support strategic decision-making through accurate financial management.

Essential Duties

  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and manage the company's budget, including forecasting future financial performance and identifying potential risks.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial records.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards, including GAAP or IFRS.
  • Coordinate and manage internal and external audits, addressing any findings and implementing corrective actions.
  • Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making, including cost analysis, profitability analysis, and variance analysis.
  • Oversee cash flow management, including monitoring cash balances, forecasting cash needs, and managing company credit cards and banking relationships.
  • Manage all aspects of tax planning and compliance, including the preparation and filing of tax returns in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee and ensure accurate tracking and reporting of VIP, MOPs, and incentive billback activities.
  • Address supplier accounts payable inquiries, ensuring a positive and seamless experience.
  • Oversee the management of Encompass dashboards, including the development and maintenance of new and existing report modules.
  • Manage the reporting of incentive programs and monthly/quarterly bonuses, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Other duties, as assigned by the jobholder’s supervisor, may also be required.

  • Results-oriented professional with strong verbal/written communication skills using diplomacy and discretion, as well as customer service skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all financial reporting and analysis.
  • Utilize sound judgement and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, high-volume, team environment

Compensation

  • $60,000 - $70,000 / Year, paid Bi-Weekly

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems; strong knowledge of GAAP or IFRS.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must have reliable transportation and proof of auto insurance
  • Must be at least 21 years old

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA or CMA certification preferred
  • Additional language skills an advantage

Physical Requirements

  • Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds of inventory as needed.
  • Employee is occasionally required to drive, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl.
  • Employee frequently is required to walk and sit.
