Adjunct Instructor - Welding

The LCCC welding program covers all the major semi-automatic and manual welding processes. This includes Shielded Metal Arc Welding (stick), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW or MIG), Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW or TIG) and Oxy-Fuel Welding. We also cover cutting processes such as Oxy-Fuel Cutting and Plasma Cutting as well as other process such as Soldering and Brazing. 

As an adjunct welding instructor, you will be periodically offered the opportunity to instruct welding classes covering the topics listed above.

The following are examples of classes that may be offer to an adjunct instructor.

  • WTEC 108 Oxy-Fuel Welding and Cutting - This course covers the basic theories and practices of oxyacetylene gas welding, cutting, brazing, soldering, types of welding equipment, and operational safety issues. Welding equipment design, use, care, and maintenance are emphasized. Oxy-Fuel laboratory work will include fusion welding, brazing, soldering, and manual and semiautomatic cutting.
  • WTEC 116 Basic Shielded Metal Arc Welding - This course covers the basic theories and practices of shielded metal arc welding, flat position welding of ferrous metal, and required welding code applications. Welding equipment design, use, care, safety, and maintenance are emphasized. Laboratory, exercises that develop welding skills in a variety of welding positions will be practiced. Welding power source selection will also be studied.
