Job Description:

Position Summary: The production supervisor is responsible for supervising production associates, Production Assistants and Production Coordinators.  In addition, they will develop team members, coach, motivate, train associates to high performance levels who are able to work independently and efficiently.  Ensure safety, proper housekeeping, production, and quality goals are met.  Maintaining and constantly improving a safe and quality-driven work culture is paramount in this position.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Supervise production associates, develop team members, coach, motivate and train associates to high performance levels in a manufacturing environment.
  • Assists Production Manager in reviewing shift operations and makes recommendations relative to changes in operations, staffing, equipment, and procedures.
  • Responsible for recruiting, personnel training and development, good housekeeping, following, and ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
  • Maintain a culture that prioritizes and embraces safety first.
  • Implementing, leading, and enforcing, safety and company policies and procedures.
  • Lead lean processes and continuous improvement.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production line issues that occur on shift and responsible for frequent quality checks.
  • Maintain a supportive and productive work atmosphere through professional conduct and effective communication with internal and external customers, including vendors, coworkers, subordinates, and other supervisors.
  • Responsible for reviewing accurate time records for team members on shift.
  • Attend all production related meetings, safety meetings, and conducts pre-shift meetings.
  • Complete incident reports including near-miss reports in a timely manner.
  • Cross-train in other functional areas in order to support the manufacturing facility for special projects and assignments.

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent may include specialized or vocational courses.
  • Three to Five years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Microsoft Office Computer Skills
  • Knowledge and experience with SAP
