Job Title: Lining Technician

Reports to: Production Manager

Non-Exempt Position

Location: Onsite – Houston, TX


The Lining Technician will install and weld high-end fluoropolymer sheets linings to steel vessels for corrosion protection while maintaining a safety culture, adhering to and following the company’s principal guidelines.


Responsibilities:

  • Operates a plastic welding gun, use power tools, and hand tools, operate various shop machines.
  • Installs plastic sheets.
  • Welds high-end plastic sheets linings into steel vessels.
  • Inspects completed welds to determine structural accuracy.
  • Cuts sheets or material to be joined to form smooth edges using knife or other tools.
  • Dies grinder and sanding equipment.
  • Trowels epoxy into steel to adhesively bond the sheet.
  • Usages hot-air guns occasionally to perform job specifications.
  • Maintains specifications while performing welding processes; take measurements; detect malfunctions; troubleshoot processes; adjust and reset welding equipment; sharpen and replace worn tools; adhere to quality assurance procedures and processes.
  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • In any environment, always follow safety standards and wear proper protective gear.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned. 

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Valid Driver’s license or reliable transportation
  • Analytical skills to lay out and execute a precision job from conception to completion.
  • Ability to use basic measurements, cutting and hand tools.
  • Must be able to travel and work overtime when required.
  • Preferred Skills and Experience: 
  • Experience in plastic welding, mechanical aptitude.
  • Able to read drawings and blueprints is preferred.
  • Solid understanding of productivity software (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint), file management, and email communication tools.
  • Ability to quickly learn new software systems and tools.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Physical requirements:

  • Work in confined spaces.
  • Occasional repetitive movement of fingers, hands, and wrist.
  • Must be able to bend, kneel, stand and sit various times throughout the time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Must be able to use respiratory protection when required.
