Athletic Facilities & Event ManagerJob Description:
The Athletics Facility and Event Manager serves as a key member of the Athletics Operations & Facilities team and is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of athletic events and facility operations for Mount St. Mary’s University. This position assists in creating exceptional game day experiences for student-athletes, coaches, fans, officials, and visiting teams while ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operation of athletics facilities. This position reports directly to the Director of Athletic Facilities & Operations.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Event Management
- Lead game day operations for athletic events and venues, ensuring successful execution from planning through post-event breakdown for assigned sports.
- Develop and implement detailed event management plans, timelines, and operational procedures.
- Coordinate staffing and logistics needs with internal and external partners
- Ensure competition surfaces and ARCC spaces are safe and properly prepared for internal and external competitions, events, and programs.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for visiting teams and game officials for assigned events.
- Coordinate with the Associate Director of Athletics & Recreation for Operations on visiting team logistics, including facility access, practice schedules, locker room assignments, and game day needs.
- Foster positive relationships with conference partners, NCAA representatives, vendors, and external constituents.
Facility Management
- Assist with the day-to-day operation and stewardship of Athletics facilities.
- Conduct daily/weekly facility walk-through for assigned sports.
- Monitor and communicate facility needs and operational concerns at weekly Operations meetings with campus partners.
- Collaborate with Recreation Facility Supervisor on ARCC facility maintenance, risk management, policies, and procedures.
- Supervise the ARCC as needed during operational hours and special events.
Department Support
- Assist in preparing fields and facilities for recreational events & competitions.
- Work collaboratively with Recreation & Wellness on internal and external event logistics.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of operational manuals, guidelines, and event information materials.
- Oversee game day staff for assigned sports.
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of operational policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Run on- & off-campus errands as needed.
- Maintain positive and collaborative interoffice relationships
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director for Athletic Facilities & Operations.

Job Requirements: Education, Experience and Skills:
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Sport Management, Business Administration, Event Management, Recreation, or a related field.
- One (1) year of experience in athletics operations, event management, facility operations, or a related field.
- Demonstrated organizational, project management, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours as required by athletic & recreation events and department needs.
- Knowledge of and compliance with institutional, conference and NCAA rules, both those general in nature and those which apply specifically to their job responsibilities.

Targeted Salary
$45,500/year
(Actual compensation will be commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications.)
