Job Description:

The Richard J. Bolte, Sr. School of Business at Mount St. Mary’s University invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor or Lecturer of Finance faculty position beginning August 2026:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The teaching requirement for this 10-month contract is 21 credits between the Fall and Spring semesters and will include a combination of undergraduate and graduate courses in finance. Undergraduate courses are primarily delivered in person and offered during the day with some evening options, while graduate courses are delivered using on-line synchronous and asynchronous formats. The successful candidate will also serve as the primary contact for student recruitment and advising for the finance major and minor.

All faculty are expected to serve the Mount by participating in school and university-wide committees, advising students majoring in the school's programs, developing course curriculum, participating in assessment, remaining current in their discipline, and performing other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements: Education, Experience and Skills:

Qualifications

  • Required:
    • Ph.D. or Graduate degree in Finance
    • Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence.
  • Preferred:
    • Professional or industry experience in the field.
    • Prior university-level teaching experience.
    • Evidence of scholarly engagement and professional
    • development.
    • An earned Professional Certification (e.g. CFP, CFA, or ChFC)

Salary Range:

The salary ranges below represent budgeted hiring averages and are provided for transparency. Final salary offers are competitive and determined based on discipline-specific market factors, qualifications, experience, and rank. In some cases, salaries may fall outside the listed averages.

  • Lecturer: $58,000 – $70,000
  • Assistant Professor: $68,000 – $80,000
