Job DetailsJob Location: Emory, VA 24327Position Type: Full Time StaffEducation Level: 4 Year DegreeJob Category: EducationThe Director of Admissions works under the general direction of the Vice President, Strategic Partnerships & Innovation and will manage and provide oversight for the Office of Admissions.  This position is instrumental in the leadership of the admissions office, as well as the various goals and the daily operations.  The successful candidate will possess strong computer and analytical skills, as well as have strong interpersonal skills and be a proponent of a customer service admissions model.       Duties and Responsibilities:  Plans and leads student recruitment initiatives by providing overall leadership and overseeing the daily operations of the admissions team.  This position provides vision to inspire, motivate, coach and mentor professional and support staff in setting and reaching enrollment goals; monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of admission policies, practices and procedures;  Leads the development of marketing materials and strategies utilizing current technologies, including social media.   The successful candidate will collaborate with Office of Institutional Effectiveness, Student Experience, Office of Marketing & Communications, and Student Success.  Coordinate with the Director of Admissions Operations Systems to develop, monitor and analyze statistical reports to enhance recruitment strategies, yield management forecasting and operational efficiency of human, physical and financial resources.   The director manages the admission process, including the recruitment plan and review of applicant information and dissemination of decisions:  provides coordination between recruitment-oriented offices and helps to maintain a cohesive identity and high visibility for those services with faculty; promotes the use of technology in recruitment and office procedures.   They will also serve as the liaison to internal and external constituents regarding admissions and enrollment issues and they will be integral in managing the budget.   Comply with all rules, policies, and procedures as established by Emory & Henry College and the School of Health Sciences Direct and coordinate the process of student recruitment and admissions Develop and implement strategic recruitment and retention plans Oversee and manage the department budget Meet with prospective students and their families to discuss the admissions process and requirements Review program applications and make admission decisions, ensuring compliance with the institution’s standards Maintain up-to-date knowledge of educational trends, changes in policies, and new programs that can attract students Analyze admissions data to monitor enrollment trends and inform strategic decisions Collaborate with marketing team to develop promotional materials and campaigns Other duties as assigned.   Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s Degree preferred Required Experience: Proven experience in a leadership role within admissions or a related department in an educational setting Strong understanding of admissions processes and procedures Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions Experience with social media platforms Competency:  Proficient in core computer software programs (google documents, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Canva) Detail-oriented Strong leadership skills Time management Problem-solving  Customer-focused Ability to multi-task and adapt to new situations Salary Range: $55,000 to $65,000 QualificationsRequired Education: Bachelor’s degree. Prefer at least a minimum of 5–7 years of progressively responsible experience in college admissions or enrollment management Proven track record in developing and executing successful recruitment strategies for undergraduate populations Demonstrated leadership experience, including supervision and development of professional staff Experience working with CRMs (e.g., Slate, Salesforce, Jenzabar) and data to inform decision-making Familiarity with financial aid, scholarships, and their role in recruitment and yield strategy Strong understanding of national enrollment trends and best practices in undergraduate recruitment Experience collaborating across departments, particularly with marketing, academic affairs, and student services Comfort with public speaking, including presentations to prospective students, families, and school counselors Experience managing territory and travel planning, including off-site recruitment and event coordination Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in recruitment efforts Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.   Competency:  Creativity and attention to detail. Strong project management and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.  Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies and trends.
