Position Overview:

As a Bowl Shop General Manager, you will lead all aspects of daily store operations to deliver an exceptional guest experience and high-quality açaí products while embodying SAMBAZON’s mission and values. You will serve as a trusted people leader and business owner for your location. You will recruit, train, and develop your team. You will uphold food safety and operational standards. You will ensure the store meets its sales, profit, and compliance goals. In this role, you will create an energetic, welcoming environment. You will build emotional connections with guests through açaí. You will champion local marketing efforts that grow brand awareness in the community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Upholds high operations standards and ensures the store complies with all local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Achieves store financial targets including sales, profit goals, and accurate financial records. Handles cash, makes bank deposits, and manages store overhead, cash, and other assets.
  • Serves as a team builder and trusted leader. Manages and directs the work of store associates. Plans daily work activities and allocates work assignments based on business needs.
  • Recruits and hires store associates to keep the store well staffed. Manages staffing levels by retaining quality performers and developing a pipeline of internal and external talent.
  • Trains, coaches, develops, and disciplines store associates. Assesses internal talent and creates performance plans. Identifies high-potential associates for advancement.
  • Provides for the safety and security of guests and associates. Oversees food safety practices for all employees.
  • Builds emotional connections with guests through açaí. Ensures exceptional guest experience by enhancing food quality, energy, and ambiance. Handles guest complaints and maintains a clean, safe, and sanitary store environment.
  • Promotes brand awareness through marketing promotions, limited time offers, and local store marketing initiatives. Implements new products according to company standards.
  • Ensures the store and staff display an energetic and welcoming environment. Analyzes store scheduling needs and creates compliant schedules.
  • Trains Brand Ambassadors on company procedures and operations standards to prepare them for staff training, location management, and grand openings.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve store performance and implements action plans.
  • Responds to associate complaints and consults with company resources as necessary.
  • Balances financial results with associate and guest experience, food quality, and safety.
  • Utilizes operational tools to achieve excellence in store performance.
  • Other job-related duties as requested by the Restaurant Operations team. 

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of employment laws related to managing staff. Ability to train and teach food and work safety to store associates.
  • Knowledge of trends affecting the food service industry and competitive market.
  • Complete understanding of financial measures and performance.
  • Strong leadership, financial analysis, and time management skills.
  • Ability to perform FOH and BOH responsibility, including accurate inventory tracking. 
  • Ability to embrace change and pursue growth. 

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • At least three years of supervisory/lead experience in a restaurant or food service environment. 
  • A college degree in business or hospitality management is preferred but not required.
  • ServSafe Managers Food Safety Certification within 30 days of employment.
