Physician Assistant – Primary Care

Location: Engelhard, North Carolina

Schedule: Full-time or part-time; flexible scheduling based on provider preference
Compensation: $51 - $61 per hour, depending on experience

Ocracoke Health Center, Inc. is seeking a Physician Assistant to join the care team at Engelhard Medical Center in rural Hyde County, North Carolina. We provide compassionate, community-focused care in an area shaped by fishing, farming, and small-town life.

As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), we provide comprehensive primary care services to all patients regardless of their ability to pay, with a strong focus on serving rural and underserved communities.

About the Role

• Provide primary and preventive care to patients of all ages
• Flexible scheduling available based on provider preference
• Clinic hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Patient panel designed to support meaningful continuity of care
• Collaborate with experienced physicians, other mid-level practitioners, and clinical staff in a supportive, team-oriented environment
• Participate in community health initiatives that make a meaningful impact

Requirements

We’re Looking for Someone Who

• Is licensed as a Physician Assistant in North Carolina (or eligible for licensure)
• Has experience in primary care or family practice (new graduates are encouraged to apply)
• Brings strong clinical skills and a collaborative mindset
