Job Summary


The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling and fabricating mechanical components and products within our Prefabrication shop. This role works in a designated area of the production line and relies on a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to follow technical instructions. The Mechanical Assembler reads and interprets blueprints, diagrams, and engineering drawings to ensure all assemblies meet required specifications. The position also involves working with electrical components, including circuit breakers and electrical cabinets, and using a variety of handheld tools such as drills and screwdrivers.

Essential Job Responsibilities 

  • Assemble or fabricate mechanical parts, pieces, or products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications
  • Perform this work in a specific area of a production line in our prefabrication shop
  • Read, interpret, and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, and specifications
  • Work with electrical components like circuit breakers and electrical cabinet utilizing handheld tools like drills and screwdrivers.

Other duties may be assigned as needed to support business operations.

Minimum Qualifications

Required:

  • Have a passion for working with your hands and solving problems
  • Possess demonstrated mechanical ability
  • Be able to read blueprints and work orders
  • Be able to read/use a tape measure
  • Possess basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills as well as a normal range of hearing and vision

Work Environment:

  • Climbing up and down stairs and ladders to both get in and out of trenches and up to elevated platforms (scaffolding at significant heights)
  • Lifting necessary equipment and materials 1-50 pounds, 50% of the time monthly for required tasks
  • Potential or Periodic amounts of time for the following: Walking on uneven terrain, with an average of two miles per day, and standing

This role requires compliance with all applicable safety regulations, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and Loenbro's Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) policies.
