What You Can Expect

The Manager of Distribution has responsibility for the Distribution functions within Paragon 28, to include receiving and put away, logistics, inventory management, and process development. This position also has overall responsibility for the management of people within this team. 

How You'll Create Impact

  • Responsible for the planning, organization and direction of distribution, logistics and freight management activities to meet or exceed established service goals in a cost-effective manner. 
  • Improve processes and procedures throughout the distribution organization to drive efficiencies and a consistent workflow.
  • Maintain alignment to budgetary responsibilities for labor, freight, and direct expenses.
  • Create processes to minimize freight expenses and maximize on-time delivery.
  • Implement departmental reporting metrics to track performance, inventory accuracy, labor utilization, and processing times.
  • Ensure all financial and internal audit requirements are met.
  • Create and maintain data models for domestic and international inventory site optimization. 
  • Establish and enforce processes to minimize internal errors and increase internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Provide leadership, communication, and coaching to Distribution Supervisors and employees:
  • Ensure teams are properly staffed, and labor is efficiently allocated, trained and motivated. 
  • Cultivate a motivated employee environment of trust, teamwork, accountability, confidence, and business ownership.
  • Build teams committed to excellence, focused on the highest level of service delivery, and driving key business metrics.
  • Provide, coordinate, and coach continuous improvement activities through the distribution teams
  • Foster teamwork to sustain continuous improvement in safety, service, quality and cost.
  • Work with Operational leadership to streamline processes between frequently interfacing teams and exceed shared expectations.
  • Communicate regularly with Commercial, Finance, Engineering, and QC leadership to ensure operational alignment and desired results.
  • Full ownership of the On-Call staff to ensure after hours business needs are met
  • Other duties as assigned.

Your Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, or related field, or equivalent experience 
  • 5+ years of domestic and international distribution operations and inventory management experience 
  • 5+ years of work experience in process optimization in a warehouse/operations setting required 
  • 4+ years of direct people management experience, including coaching, performance management, and developing team members
  • Proficient in establishing, collecting and interpreting analytics to resolve problems and improve processes
  • Experience creating and utilizing KPIs and business intelligence tools to drive inventory optimization and employee productivity
  • PowerBI experience preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership style that motivates team performance by communicating a company vision and providing coaching to a team 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be comfortable communicating with all levels of the organization and to large groups
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • SAP or similar ERP software experience required, SAP preferred 
  • Lean Six Sigma Green belt required, Black Belt preferred 
  • Prior experience in orthopedics/medical device operations highly desired

Compensation Data

Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000 USD Annually depending on skills and experience

  • This job operates in both a professional office environment and distribution warehouse environment.
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and copy machines as well as equipment found in a distribution facility. 
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with individuals internal and external to the organization. The employee frequently is required to move about the facility. The employee may be required to lift up-to 50lbs. by themselves.
      

Travel Expectations

10% of overnight travel may be required
