We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Manufacturing / Production Engineer to support and lead daily fabrication and production operations within our fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for overseeing workflow efficiency, solving production challenges, developing and maintaining standard work procedures, and ensuring quality and schedule expectations are consistently achieved. The ideal candidate will serve as a key link between engineering, production, and project teams while helping drive continuous improvement initiatives, supporting team development, and maintaining operational excellence throughout all phases of manufacturing and fabrication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead problem-solving initiatives related to fabrication and production operations while supporting additional work areas
  • Lead daily team meetings and coordinate production workflow priorities
  • Develop, document, and maintain standard work procedures while training team members
  • Audit team member adherence to standard work, quality standards, and production expectations
  • Address operational and production issues raised by team members
  • Manage abnormal work situations and escalate issues to management when necessary
  • Track workflow inputs and outputs while evaluating production quality and efficiency
  • Monitor project progress against schedules and deadlines
  • Support production teams by backfilling workloads as necessary to maintain operational continuity
  • Communicate proactively with project teams regarding production updates, issues, and scheduling impacts throughout the project lifecycle
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, waste reduction, and operational efficiency gains

Technical Knowledge & Industry Expertise

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing and fabrication operations
  • Knowledge of framing systems including curtain wall, ribbon wall, and storefront systems preferred
  • Ability to interpret and work from:
    • Architectural drawings
    • Structural drawings
    • Project specifications
  • Basic understanding of structural engineering principles with the ability to coordinate with third-party Professional Engineers (PEs)
  • Understanding of construction practices, means, and methods
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, workflow optimization, and production planning
  • Familiarity with quality control procedures and continuous improvement initiatives

Experience

  • 5–10 years of experience within manufacturing, production, fabrication, or drafting industries
