Flood and Peterson is seeking a driven and relationship-focused Risk Advisor to join our Manufacturing Practice. This role is designed for a business development professional who understands the unique challenges facing manufacturers and enjoys helping organizations manage risk, protect assets, and achieve long-term growth.


As a Risk Advisor, you will develop and grow your own book of business while partnering with manufacturing and industrial clients to implement customized insurance and risk management strategies. You will collaborate with experienced service teams, industry specialists, and strategic partners to deliver exceptional client outcomes.

About the Role

As a Manufacturing Risk Advisor, you will be responsible for prospecting, building a pipeline, managing client relationships, and developing new business opportunities throughout Colorado's manufacturing community. You will serve as a trusted advisor to business owners and executives, helping them identify and address complex operational risks.


What You'll Do

  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within manufacturing and industrial sectors through networking, referrals, industry associations, community involvement, and strategic partnerships.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build long-term relationships with manufacturers, fabricators, distributors, food and beverage producers, and industrial organizations while serving as a trusted risk management advisor.
  • Sales Achievement: Meet or exceed annual new business and sales velocity targets while contributing to the growth of Flood and Peterson's Manufacturing Practice.
  • Risk Needs Analysis: Assess operational, property, liability, workforce, cyber, supply chain, and business continuity risks and recommend tailored insurance and risk management solutions.
  • Internal Collaboration: Partner with service teams, leadership, and carrier partners to deliver exceptional service and support.
  • Industry Engagement: Actively participate in manufacturing associations, industry organizations, economic development groups, and community initiatives to expand your network and market presence.
  • Marketing & Presentations: Collaborate with marketing teams to develop proposals, presentations, educational content, and campaigns that resonate with manufacturing and industrial clients.

What You Bring

  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in manufacturing, industrial operations, engineering, production management, safety and risk management, supply chain management, equipment sales, business development, or commercial insurance serving manufacturing clients is preferred.
  • Education and Work Experience: Associate degree (AA) or four to six years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Certificates, Licenses & Registrations:
      • Possess and maintain a Colorado Property & Casualty Producer License.
      • Requires current Colorado driver’s license and acceptable MVR.
  • Sales Experience: Demonstrated success in business-to-business (B2B) sales, building relationships, generating opportunities, closing business, and achieving performance goals.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with business owners, executives, and stakeholders.
  • Goal-Oriented: Driven to meet and exceed performance targets through proactive client engagement and business development.
