The Junior Transaction Manager is a support role assisting the Transaction Management team as it processes residential mortgage purchase, sale, and securitization transactions. Experience with the mortgage industry, bulk whole loan purchases, bulk whole loans sales and securitization transactions is helpful, but not required. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn the mortgage industry from the ground up. The Junior Transaction Manager works under the guidance of Transaction Managers, primarily handling documentation, data tracking, and administrative coordination tasks that keep transactions moving smoothly.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Maintain and update transaction tracking spreadsheets and internal logs with current status information
- Assist in collecting, organizing, and filing loan due diligence documentation
- Support the preparation and distribution of transaction data files under the direction of senior team members
- Help monitor collateral shipment and receipt status with document custodians, and log updates accordingly
- Assist with tracking and organizing collateral exception reports for review by senior staff
- Enter and update transaction information in internal systems and databases
- Help schedule kickoff and status update calls, and prepare or distribute meeting notes
- Assist in preparing routine correspondence, checklists, and settlement paperwork for senior review
- Support the Funding, Treasury and Servicing teams with tasks related to settlements and transfers
- Provide general administrative support to the Transaction Management team
- Other duties as assigned
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- No prior mortgage industry experience required; relevant internship or coursework is a plus
- Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general comfort learning new software systems
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to accurately manage repetitive, detail-oriented tasks within deadlines
- Strong sense of ownership and follow-through
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work well with both internal and external contacts
Compensation & Benefits
A reasonable estimate of the total compensation range for this role is $55,000.00 $75,000.00. The actual salary offer will depend on job-related factors including education, geographic location, training, licensure and certification, and experience.
