POSITION: SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER

STATUS: FULL TIME, PRODUCTION

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Advanced design and redline of drawings, details, diagrams and isometrics per company standards.
  • Advanced design and redline of schedules in MS Excel per company standards.
  • Advanced creation and modification of IECC files and supplement drawings/data as required.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License.
  • Manage drafting coordination on projects .
  • Conduct full field surveys of discipline specific systems as required.
  • Write narratives, specifications and cost estimates.
  • Facilitate drawings through the quality control process.
  • Lead personnel through problem solving processes.
  • Handle escalated client questions and concerns to ensure monetary risk management.
  • Interface with existing clientele and quality control analysis with minimal assistance.
  • Establish relationships with new clientele inside the current market with minimal assistance.
  • Conduct peer review of drawings, specification and associated design documentation.
  • Ensure project deliverables and due dates are met at all phases of design and construction per client expectations.
  • Assist Marketing Department with proposals based on company standards.
  • Assist Accounts Receivable with reviewing of monthly billing for completeness and monitoring of goals.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist with continually researching, monitoring and updating company standards, specification materials and schedules.
  • Assist with training courses and personnel mentoring in conjunction with annual review goals.
  • Assist with review of plans and submitted materials for compliance with industry codes, standards and guidelines.
  • Assist with continually researching and implementing processes and procedures to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of production functions.
  • Maintain all engineering licenses included LEED and NCEES accreditations if applicable.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 7 years of design engineering experience in a variety of facility building systems.
  • PE preferred
  • Advanced discipline specific knowledge of plans, company standards, advanced calculations and product selections with minimal assistance and the ability to mentor subordinates as required.
  • Knowledge of interaction between all construction disciplines and systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively research and analyze drawings, specifications and other materials/data for constructability and economical solutions.
  • The ability to mentor client interactions and monetary risk management.
  • Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing personnel groups and high-profile projects.
  • Demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace.
  • Demonstrated ability to see the big picture and provide useful and strategic advice/input across the company.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Position may require travel and use of private vehicle.
  • Position may require work outside of an office setting regardless of climate.
  • Position may require working with site survey equipment, including ladders.

OTHER DUTIES:

  • As assigned

SALARY RANGE: $80k to $125k per year. Potential for discretionary quarterly bonuses.

FULL TIME: In office with possible occasional hybrid schedule. Normal office hours are:

Monday-Thursday 7:30-5:30 and Friday 8-Noon.
