ER Director – Full Time, Varied Shift (Administrative Call Rotation Required)

What You’ll Do

As the ER Director, you’ll play a pivotal role in both clinical oversight and operational leadership. You’ll ensure safe, efficient departmental function while supporting and developing the nursing team. Responsibilities include:

• Staffing: Assessing and providing appropriate ED staffing using tools to measure, track, monitor, and report departmental processes; measured through productivity and turnover.
• Safe Environment: Prioritizing employee and patient safety; ensuring compliance with OSHA, Infection Control, and Environment of Care standards; providing ongoing staff training.
• Hiring: Following St. Mary’s hiring procedures and ensuring timely completion of interviews and onboarding steps.
• Evaluations: Delivering timely 90‑day evaluations for new hires and completing annual performance evaluations for all staff; measured by 100% on‑time completion.
• Employee Competency & Education: Assessing staff educational needs; developing structures and processes to enhance knowledge, skills, and abilities; implementing best practices to strengthen competencies and documentation.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring departmental adherence to all applicable regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Administrative Call: Sharing nursing administrative call responsibilities with nursing managers on a rotating basis.

What We’re Looking For

Licensure / Certification / Education

• Current RN licensure in the State of Oklahoma
• BSN required; Master’s in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or Business preferred
• CEN certification strongly encouraged
• Current BLS required
• ALS and PALS required within 3 months of employment in the Emergency Department
• Basic computer skills required

Experience & Skills

• Demonstrated experience as a professional nurse with proven administrative and supervisory capability
• Strong communication, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills
• Ability to tolerate high stress levels while maintaining a positive, professional attitude
