Position Summary: 

 

     Responsible for operating the switchboard, I and II way paging, code blue and TDD telephones, taking and relaying messages, monitoring alarms and notifying proper personnel.  Registers, takes monies for Hospitality House Guests and processes out-going mail.  Provide communication for the hospital.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or GED required.
  • One-year experience in communication work is required.
  • Good telephone skills required.
  • Must successfully complete the pre-employment assessment.
  • Basic computer skills required.

Job Functions:

  • Answer the PBX console by the third ring
  • Answer the Code Blue phone or rehab code blue TV screen; page overhead, notify ICU and ER Doctor, voice page ER team and call the Lab and complete procedure in 1 minute or less.
  • Act as the information service for guests of the hospital from 5p-9a
  • Page in a clear voice on I and II-way radios and use the message flash paging system when necessary
  • respond quickly and efficiently to all alarms and notify proper personnel on all emergencies
  • Disperse and log papers to employees for temporary use
  • Perform all other duties required and assigned
