Sterile Processing Technician – Full Time (Level 1)

As a Level 1 Sterile Processing Technician, you’ll support essential reprocessing functions, maintain accurate records, and help ensure that surgical teams have the sterile instruments and supplies they need for safe, successful procedures.

What You’ll Do

As a Sterile Processing Technician, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining a safe surgical environment through proper instrument reprocessing and workflow support. Responsibilities include:

  • Performing Level 1 reprocessing of flexible endoscopes and loaner tray processing.

  • Maintaining accurate records, prioritizing workflow, and making minor decisions during after‑hours and weekend shifts.

  • Demonstrating knowledge of surgical supplies and instrumentation.

  • Performing technical tasks in decontamination, preparation, and sterile holding.

  • Assembling scheduled and emergency case carts with accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Providing some oversight and support to Level 1 technicians.

  • Attending at least 75% of department staff meetings and reviewing minutes for all others.

  • Completing all mandatory in‑services and documenting 10 additional educational hours annually.

  • Participating in on‑call rotation as assigned.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

Required Knowledge, Skills & Licensure

  • CRCST Sterile Processing Technician certification required

  • Previous surgical experience preferred

  • Typing and basic computer skills preferred
