Summary
Performs all routine and diagnostic Mammographic procedures. Provides patients with safe, courteous and
efficient care. Assists in other sections of the department as needed.
Essential Functions
- Prepares for and performs all mammography examinations by positioning patients and adjusting equipment
exposure factors. - Assists radiologists in biopsy procedures when needed.
- Evaluates mammograms for technical quality.
- Completes "Informed Consent" forms as needed.
- Maintains the cleanliness of the mammography machines and associated minor equipment in accordance with
infection control policies and procedures. - Understands and follows all universal precautions and personal protective equipment requirements.
- Attend department meetings and participate in all annual required training and in-service training.
- Possesses knowledge of MQSA requirements and participates, as needed, in the accomplishment of required
quality assurance records. - Utilizes PACS, RIS, and current EMR efficiently and completes required documentation for each examination
performed. - Lifts and transfers patients as needed using safe ergonomic technique and utilizes the hydraulic lift or other safe
patient handling devices and the patient's family members or caregivers when necessary. - Complies with all continuing education requirements as dictated by regulatory entities.
- Required to maintain active Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required:
- A graduate of a course in Radiologic Technology approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).
- Washington State Certification as Radiologic Technologist (RT) license.
- ARRT registered in Mammography (within 6 months of hire).
- Basic Life Support (CPR) certification (within 90 days of hire).

- Previous mammography experience.
- A working knowledge of computers, accurate keyboarding skills, and email communication.

Working Conditions:
- Office/Clinic. Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination for operation of equipment. Requires eyesight correctable to a level sufficient to operate equipment, review diagnostic images, and complete associated paperwork. Depth perception is required. Required hearing correctable to a level sufficient to use the telephone and hear a patient speaking when your back is turned. The abilities to smell and to feel when touching are required.
