Summary
Essential Functions
- Perform related assignments as requested in order to promote positive visitor, family, and co-worker relations.
- Demonstrates communication and interactions in accordance to Confluence Health’s Code of Conduct in all aspects of job performance Perform related assignments as requested in order to promote positive visitor, family, and co-worker relations.
- Collaborates with the Director/Clinical Manager to determine education needs for the unit.
- Provides teaching and facilitates evidenced based learning with staff to optimize patient outcomes in the clinical area in many settings both formal and informal. Organizes educational programs
- Promotes skill development through formal classroom education, one-on-one interaction and alongside staff on the unit(s).
- Recognizes needs of shift work and schedules time with staff on the various clinical shifts.
- In conjunction with the Clinical Nurse Manager, directs orientation of new nurses. Facilitates orientation and assists with evaluation of core clinical competencies.
- Serves as a consultant, mentor and role model to staff.
- Provides input to the Clinical Nurse Manager for evaluations of nursing staff.
- Assists the Clinical Manager/Director in developing, presenting, and implementing best practices for nursing area.
- Works with the Manager of Clinical Development to instruct standard work best practices to establish and maintain consistency in nursing care among all CWH units and service lines.
- Participates in improvement projects focused on achievement of annual goals and CHVS initiatives, assists to ensure implementation of and adherence to improvement changes
- Maintains a high standard of professional responsibility and performance
- Establishes programs to assist staff pursuing certification.
- Promotes a team environment which enhances interdepartmental partnership and cooperation.
- In partnership with the Clinical Nurse Manager, establishes an annual unit level in-service plan with goals, timeframes and documentation processes.
- Adheres to Confluence Health and Central Washington Hospital/Wenatchee Valley Hospital policies and unit standards as applicable
- Required to maintain active Basic Life Support (CPR) certification
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Current licensure in the state of Washington (RCW 18.88) or licensure through Multistate Nurse Licensure Compact (SSB 5499).
- BSN (BSN may be obtained within 1-2 years of hire), or other appropriate degree.
- A minimum of four years of current specialty nursing experience.
- The qualified candidate must have demonstrated leadership skills and teaching abilities.
- Must possess basic computer skills related to Windows navigation, mouse usage, keyboarding, email communication and password management.
