A Washington school district is seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist to join its special education team for a full-time maternity leave assignment from September through December. This position serves a preschool caseload of approximately 45 students and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference during a critical stage of language and communication development.

As the school's SLP, you'll provide comprehensive speech-language services that help students strengthen communication skills essential for academic and social success. Working alongside educators, families, and related service providers, you'll develop individualized treatment plans, conduct evaluations, and implement evidence-based interventions in a collaborative preschool setting.

What You'll Do:
  • Prepare evaluation reports, therapy notes, and progress documentation.
  • Deliver direct speech-language therapy services to preschool-aged students.
  • Complete speech and language evaluations and interpret assessment results.
  • Monitor student growth and adjust therapy strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute recommendations for student programming.
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student outcomes.

Requirements


  1. Previous experience in a school setting is preferred.
  2. Ability to pass all required background screenings.
  3. Availability to provide services on-site; this position is not eligible for teletherapy.
  4. Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field from an accredited university.
  5. Active Washington State SLP license and ESA certification, or eligibility to obtain both before the start date.
