POSITION SUMMARY:
The Private Duty LPN will provide skilled nursing care to patients requiring professional nursing services in accordance with physicians order, directed by the RN, and in compliance with company policies/procedures, state and federal regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation; including, but not limited to:
- Provide nursing care and prescribed treatments for patients in accordance with physicians orders and in compliance with company policies/procedures, state and federal regulations
- Implement physician orders in a timely, complete and accurate manner
- Ensure the safety of the treatment procedures, patient and environment at all times
- Provide patient care delivery in a manner that enhances the overall mission, vision, philosophy, goals and objectives of the Company
- Incorporate new technologies and interventions for patient care
- Follow emergency procedures when necessary
- Willing to travel to other office locations to assist with staffing if needed
- Attend in-services and meetings as required
- Maintain appropriate documentation of care provided to patient and any communication with the patients physician
- Comply with state and federal regulations
- Communicate information effectively to supervisor and others in a timely manner
Required Skills:
- Work requires advance knowledge of the Homecare Industry, Medicare Regulations, CMS, and other State/Federal regulatory changes
Required Work Experience:
- One (1) year experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) preferred
Licensing/Certification/Education Requirements:
- Graduate of a Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) Program
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
- Current CPR Certification
- Current State Drivers License
- Current Auto Liability Insurance according to Company Policy
Required Computer Skills / Equipment Used
- Demonstrate proficiency with electronic medical record application
- Demonstrate proficiency with HR Payroll System
- Blood Pressure Equipment
- Routine Blood/I.V. Supplies
- Personal Protective Equipment
Physical Requirements:
- Job will require frequent lifting of objects up to 40 pounds
