Summary:

The Sr. Staff Accountant performs a variety of complex accounting functions independently to support the bank’s financial operations by leading processes and reviewing financial transactions, maintaining accurate accounting records, preparing and reviewing reconciliations, preparing and reviewing financial and regulatory reports, and adhering to internal controls and regulatory requirements. 


Essential Functions:

  • Record and review daily, monthly, and quarterly accounting entries as needed
  • Perform and review account reconciliations for Bank, Holding Company, and Bank subsidiaries
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
  • Assist with SEC and regulatory filings
  • Assist in Federal Tax filings
  • Assist with audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries
  • Oversee accounts payable process
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and accounting regulations
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
  • Communicate with other departments to ensure smooth financial workflows
  • Perform other accounting and finance duties as assigned


Required Education and Experience:

  • 3-6 years of relevant experience
  • Accounting experience (financial institution or public accounting preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Accounting, Finance or a related field 
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and regulatory accounting principles
  • Functional understanding of Windows-based applications including proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks 
  • Flexibility in working hours, particularly when meeting deadlines is crucial
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional work environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, monitors, mouse, keyboards, phones, printers, scanners, photocopiers, filing cabinets, calculators, and fax machines. Due to the physical location of this position, phone ringing, and people conversing, it may be difficult to hear at times, which can be easily distracting.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Flexibility in schedule is required, particularly when meeting deadlines, including possible periods of overtime.

 

Salary: $73,337.50 - $105,606.00

Pay Transparency:

Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data, and individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive-eligible, with payment based on company, business, and/or individual performance.
