Job DetailsJob Location: Erie Plant - Erie, PA 16502Duties and Responsibilities: Will be heavily involved in the qualification of new molds and correction of dimensional problems. This position will be responsible for various special projects related to Quality Management, SPC, etc. Will contribute to the trouble shooting of various process issues, working closely with various production and technical people to problem solve as a team. May be required to maintain raw materials, in process and finished goods specifications. Upon implementation of corrective actions, verification of effectiveness will be required by the QE. Participate in DOE’s and other tests to analyze, improve and qualify products and processes. Through the use of Infinity QS implement SPC, and other statistical techniques as needed. Implement project management for new products, samples and processes. Develop and execute projects to improve manufacturing quality and efficiency. Ensure compliance with GMP requirements by way of microbiological testing and audits. Will be required to set up new items within the business system, add to Infinity, verify against quality plans or create new quality plans. Manage internal audit system. Schedule internal audits, follow up on completion and ensure any discrepancies are identified, communicated, assigned and fixed. Support the development, implementation, review, management and maintenance of the plant's Food Packaging Safety Program, including the SQF System. Communicate to relevant personnel all information essential to ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of the SQF System. Report Food Safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action to maintain the integrity of the SQF System. Cover in the absence of key personnel to maintain the integrity of the SQF System and Food Safety in the plant. Initiate action to prevent occurrences of any nonconforming product or quality systems. Identify and record problems relating to product, process and quality system. Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels. Prevent nonconforming product from being shipped to customers. Suggest actions for continual improvement to products, processes, or systems. Verify the implementation of solutions.  Supervisory Responsibilities: No Educational and Other Skill RequirementsEducational and Other Skills Requirements: High school diploma with 3 – 7 years’ experience combined with specific formal training in key technical areas. Manufacturing project participation experience. Must have experience using various quality tools. Must have a strong understanding of SPC / SQC methods and charting. Must have excellent communication and team building skills Ability to read and interpret blueprints to develop quality plans. Must have good computer and networking skills to include database management. Experience with auditing processes and procedures. Ability to contribute in a team setting to identify root cause and develop a corrective action. Must have excellent skills with Microsoft Office to develop spreadsheets and correspondence with management and customers. Experience in high-speed manufacturing Experience with training employees in quality and job-related activities College degree in Engineering. Experience in plastics manufacturing.
