JOBDESCRIPTION:Â
- Setupandoperate CNC3-Axis vertical millandcomputer-controlled latheto moderate tolerance,maintaining dimensions, concentricity, and surface finishes as specified on drawings. Set up andoperate engine/turret lathes, verticalboring mill andmilling machine.Producestandardandnon-standardproducts to requiredfinishes, accuracies, andspecifiedtolerances.Â
- Write machine computerprograms for dimensions specified on drawings and dimensions specified of supervisors. Work from drawings, layouts, route sheets, and special instructions.Make necessary computations.Work will involve a variety of standard and specialjobs with a rangeof operations tobe performed.Use of good judgment and standard proceduresrequired.Â
- Select proper tools, fixtures, tool holders, holding devices, etc. toassure proper setup and operation sequences, but deviate when required.Obtain, when necessary, all attachments and devices to secure and align work properly.Maintaincorrect relationship of surfaces, concentricitiesand related dimensions, and machine to required accuracies.Useall types of work-holding devices andattachments commonto thetype of work described.Â
- Use allmeasuringinstrumentsrequiredto verifythatpartsare manufacturedtodrawing requirements.Work from drawings, layouts, route sheets and make any calculations requiredto setup and operate equipment properly.Â
- Inspect parts in accordance with sound machining practices andestablished inspectionprocedures.Â
- Make required adjustments to equipment, setups, computerprogramsand/or tooling to assure product quality andsafe operation of equipment. Notify supervisor of anychanges made. Vary speedsand feeds to meet requirements of metals beingmachined andto ensure that excessive useof tooling andinserts does not occur.Â
- Perform debuggingoperations, asrequired,relative tomachinefunction. Also, perform otherdutieswhendirected bysupervisor or asrequired to maintain a sound operation.Â
- Makecorrectionstosetupsheets,book,routesheets,etc.asnecessary.Â
- Operations andoperationsequence are standardbut require some judgment in working out set-up and operating details.Â
- Establishreference surfaces and split casting dimensions where necessary. Select, grind, set and adjust tools in accordance with prescribed methods. Work on jobs involving several positions and operations; some multiple tooling.Â
- Safety-Maintain sound safety practicesandfollowall safetyregulationsat all times.Â
- Keep workareas cleanandorderly.Keepmachineandworkarea cleanand orderly.Keep machineswashedoutafter everyshiftandkeep conveyors clean andfree of chips.Â
- Complete all required 5S, Daily Management metric charts, graphs,sheets and boards.Â
