Global Datacenter Service Line Leader

About the Role

We are seeking a senior leader to own and evolve our global Datacenter (DC) service line. This role is accountable for defining multi‑year strategy, standardizing design and operations, leading large‑scale improvement programs, and converting complex data into clear, executive‑level decisions. You will work across regions and functions to ensure our datacenter services are resilient, efficient, scalable, and economically sound.

This is a highly visible leadership role with direct influence over technology direction, cost structure, sustainability outcomes, and customer success.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Define, maintain, and refresh a 5‑year global datacenter strategy, covering site footprint, technology choices, and transformation initiatives.
  • Translate long‑term strategy into an actionable execution roadmap aligned with business priorities.

Standardization & Operational Excellence

  • Establish and maintain global datacenter design and operational standards.
  • Lead management information (MI) analysis to continuously optimize performance, reliability, and efficiency across the estate.

Growth Enablement & Sales Support

  • Partner with Sales and Solution Design teams to support bids and growth opportunities.
  • Provide datacenter inputs, solution data, and customer‑ready collateral to enable competitive, high‑quality proposals.

Governance & Change Management

  • Govern major changes through the technical Change Advisory Board (CAB) to manage risk and drive quality improvements.
  • Ensure changes are aligned with standards, strategy, and operational resilience.

Innovation & Technology Evolution

  • Evaluate new datacenter technologies with robust business cases.
  • Drive adoption of high‑value innovations and lead the retirement of less efficient or obsolete solutions.

Improvement Programs & Sustainability

  • Lead global datacenter consolidation, renewal, and modernization programs.
  • Accelerate energy‑efficiency and sustainability initiatives across the datacenter footprint.

Financial & Commercial Ownership

  • Improve the datacenter cost structure and overall economic performance.
  • Oversee cost and revenue collection, impairment reviews, work‑unit (WU) checks, investment approvals, and CAPEX plan reviews in partnership with Finance.

Data Ownership & Reporting

  • Act as the single source of truth for datacenter data, including design information, KPIs, costs, utilization, and forecasts.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and executive confidence in reporting.

You will work closely with global and regional stakeholders, including:

  • Datacenter Heads
  • Service Line and GEO Leadership
  • Sales and Solution Design teams
  • Global and GEO Finance partners

This role requires strong cross‑functional leadership to align plans, co‑own data, and deliver measurable outcomes.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • Proven senior leadership experience across datacenter strategy, design, and operations for a multi‑site or global estate.
  • Demonstrated success leading large‑scale transformation and energy‑efficiency programs.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, including cost optimization, business case development, and CAPEX governance.
  • Deep understanding of datacenter data models, KPI frameworks, and forecasting methodologies.
  • Executive‑level communication skills with the ability to translate complex MI into clear, actionable decisions.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with datacenter planning, charging, and impairment tools.
  • Familiarity with solution design and bid support processes.
