SUMMARY: Baker Electric is seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Mobile Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience maintaining and repairing heavy construction and utility equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty equipment in the field
  • Perform preventive maintenance per manufacturer and company standards
  • Troubleshoot diesel, hydraulic, electrical, drivetrain, and DEF systems
  • Conduct BIT and DOT inspections
  • Utilize electronic diagnostic tools
  • Maintain accurate service records
  • Communicate equipment status and safety concerns
  • Occasional out-of-town travel

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a heavy duty or mobile equipment mechanic
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Advanced mechanical and diagnostic knowledge
  • Ability to read technical manuals
  • Valid driver’s license

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • CDL Class A or B
  • ASE T2–T6 Certifications
  • OEM Certifications (CAT, Deere, Komatsu, Cummins, Allison)
  • IFPS Hydraulic Certification
  • California BIT Inspector Certification
  • OSHA 10 or 30
  • Welding Certification (up to ½ inch)
  • EPA 609 Certification
  • CPR / First Aid

PAY TRANSPARENCY:  
The starting salary for this opportunity range is listed. Other rewards may include annual bonus eligibility based on company and individual performance, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards.  Baker provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, an Employee-Owned Program (ESOP), paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO).
