Role Responsibilities
- Inspect vehicles to ensure customers drive away with confidence
- Collaborate with a skilled team to resolve technical issues quickly and effectively
- Gain hands-on experience with a wide range of domestic and foreign vehicles
- Utilize advanced tools and technology to deliver automotive service
- Follow CarMax’s standard guidelines for reconditioning and repair
- Contribute to a positive, customer-focused environment through teamwork and precision
- Follow CarMax Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) requirements and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in one or more areas: vehicle maintenance, vehicle inspections, brake repairs, and tire repairs.
- Strong knowledge of safety compliance and ability to uphold workplace standards
- Physical capability to lift heavy objects and remain on your feet for extended periods
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Valid driver’s license required
Preferred Qualifications
- Where required by State/Local law, maintain ASE Certifications in Steering and Suspension (A4), Brakes (A5), Heating Air Conditioning (A7), Electrical (A6), Engine Repair (A1), Manual Drive Train and Axles (A3), Engine Performance (A8), and Automatic Transmission/Transaxle (A2)

Except as otherwise required by state law, those considered part-time are eligible for sick time only in states that mandate it and amounts are accrued on a per pay period basis and range from 24 hours to unlimited based on state rules. In Washington, part-time Associates receive sick leave consistent with state law. Part-time Associates are also eligible for between 8 hours and 40 hours per year of vacation based on their length of service and subject to a 1 year waiting period. Part-time Associates are also eligible for 4 hours of Floating Holiday Time each calendar year subject to manager approval.Â
