We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care and a commitment to improving the quality of life for individuals through therapeutic interventions. This role involves working with patients across various settings, including home health, inpatient facilities, clinics, and skilled nursing facilities. The Occupational Therapist will assess patient needs, develop personalized treatment plans, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and cognitive abilities to determine their occupational therapy needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aimed at enhancing patients' ability to perform daily activities.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions that may include exercises, adaptive equipment recommendations, and techniques to improve fine motor skills.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, and speech therapists to coordinate patient care effectively.
  • Document patient progress and modify treatment plans as necessary based on ongoing evaluations.
  • Educate patients and their families on treatment goals, techniques, and home exercise programs to promote independence.
  • Maintain knowledge of current best practices in occupational therapy and participate in continuing education opportunities.
Requirements

  • A degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy and the principles of rehabilitation.
  • Experience in various settings such as acute care, geriatrics, occupational health, skilled nursing facilities, or home health is preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also demonstrating strong independent decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Familiarity with speech therapy techniques is a plus but not required.
