Job Description:

The Logistics Service Agreement Manager oversees the negotiation, implementation, and management of contracts related to the transportation, storage, and distribution of goods for the health system. Responsible for directly engaging sourcing teams, procurement and planning, the distribution center, and legal to develop agreements that maximize cost savings and efficiency and align with underlying supply contracts. This role is considered the health system subject matter expert on channel selection and management and optimizes the mix of suppliers within each channel to achieve the highest financial returns. Is accountable for all key performance metrics for the program, contractual terms and conditions management including any disputes, achieving program monetization goals, and internal and external compliance with the agreements.

Education Qualifications:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates supplier orientation meetings, develops researched negotiation strategies, performs individual one-on-one negotiation meetings, and liaisons with health system legal team and other key stakeholders leading to the execution of a Logistics Service Agreement with select supplier partners
  • Engages with the Sourcing and Contracting Leaders, Staff, and Committees to ensure an overall supplier negotiation strategy is developed and supported by product standardization programs that produces the best savings and supplier revenue opportunities under both the supply contract and the Logistics Service Agreement
  • Develops systems and processes to educate internal stakeholders and ensure channel optimization is achieved through the program
  • Participates in a formal, high level supplier relationships and performance management program. Develops key performance measures for suppliers and negotiates these metrics into future LSA iterations
  • Leads cross-functional meetings with the Distribution Center, Clinical Teams, Procurement & Planning, Category Management, and Accounts Payable to ensure we are maximizing the value of each Logistics Service Agreement

Education Requirement:

  • Bachelors degree (Finance and/or Economics degree preferred)

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 (10 preferred) years in purchasing / contracting or related field in a health system, manufacturing or industrial environment wherein their position became operationally familiar with a finished-goods manufacturing process, the logistics and customer services involved in a manufacturer’s cost-to-service and its order-to-cash process, as well as the impact each has on a manufacturer’s balance and income statement
  • Experience in contractual language, performance measurements, and detailed, financial data analysis utilizing annual reports and other SEC filings
  • A practical understanding of Group Purchasing Organizations (GPO) contracting methods and business operations
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office. Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable with presenting to large groups as required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree
  • Supply Chain Procurement Certificate (ASCM) or Certified Professional Contract Manager (NCMA)
