The role will entail leading the Quantum advanced packaging team to develop various cryogenic / superconducting capabilities, such as wafer-to-wafer (W2W) hybrid / fusion bonding, die-to-wafer (D2W) hybrid bonding, interposers, etc.

Job Summary

GlobalFoundries is seeking a highly skilled and motivated manager to drive the Quantum advanced packaging efforts in Fab9 (Burlington, Vermont). The role will entail leading the Quantum advanced packaging team to develop various cryogenic / superconducting capabilities, such as wafer-to-wafer (W2W) hybrid / fusion bonding, die-to-wafer (D2W) hybrid bonding, interposers, etc.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Quantum Advanced Packaging team, providing clear direction, coaching, and performance management.
  • Manage hiring, onboarding, and capability building to support team growth.
  • Oversee project execution, ensuring delivery on timelines, quality, and technical objectives.
  • Drive program planning, including timelines, reviews, and stakeholder updates.
  • Resolve conflicts and address employee concerns.
  • Define and scope development programs aligned to internal and external customer needs.
  • Manage budgets and resource allocation for prototype and development activities.
  • Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with vendors and development collaborators.
  • Execute the advanced packaging roadmap.
  • Ensure effective collaboration across cross-functional teams to meet program goals.
  • Report on team performance and progress to senior management.

Other Responsibilities

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

Required Qualifications

  • Education – Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field from an accredited degree program
  • Technical Experience – 10+ years of prior related work experience
  • Management / Leadership Experience – 2+ years of technical lead experience
  • Travel - Up to 10%
  • Fluency in English Language – Written & verbal

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education – PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field from an accredited degree program
  • Technical Experience – 12+ years of prior related work experience
  • Management / Leadership Experience – 3+ years of people management experience
  • Project management skills - i.e., the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong planning & organizational skills.
