Jamie Benway with Robert Half is currently working with a dynamic client seeking a cost accountant. This critical Cost Accountant role is responsible for the ongoing analysis of product cost, development of new product cost and margin analysis. You will also work closely with the sales teams and senior financial management team to establish customer pricing. This position is for a talented Cost Accountant looking for a company experiencing substantial growth.

Responsibilities

- Collect data and plan projects to decide costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor usage, waste

- Record and examine changes in goods and services, and determine the effects on cost

- Generate reports for management that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services

- Create and manage the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organization

- Assist in audits and general ledger preparation

- Perform variance analysis, including Purchase Price to Cost variance, cost revaluation, Invoice to PO price variances and work order variances

- Put into action a standard costing methodology for domestic plants

- Generate and complete internal cost audits

- Log a detailed record of collected data

- Abide by Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements

- Examine manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs

- Approximate costs for new and proposed products- Monitor the cycle count program and conduct physical inventories

- Analyze costs and recommend cost savings
