Dalworth Restoration is a busy full-service Disaster Restoration Company looking for an experienced Environmental Mold Technician to join our Euless, TX team.

We specialize in restoring residential and commercial properties after emergency situations caused by water damage, flood damage, mold damage, fire/smoke damage, and biohazard/trauma events.

Summary:

The Mold Technician is responsible for identifying and analyzing these air quality hazards and suggesting or making improvements to the mold remediation system of a building. This could be preventative, or it could be curative when a problem has been identified. They can make recommendations on installing or improving extractor fans.

 

Essential functions of the role:

  • Assess damage to property and provide assistance to include but not limited to removal of all affected building materials
  • Determine moisture readings using moisture meters; regularly calibrate instruments
  • Setting fans & dehumidifiers and other equipment to mitigate the loss
  • Knowledgeable in mold identification and inspection; willing to work continually on professional development
  • Removal of hazardous material abatement or removal.
  • Ability to work emergency calls when necessary
  • Communicate effectively with clients and management
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe job site
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and effective communication while performing mold remediation at work sites
  • Other duties as assigned

Core Competencies:

  • Have great attention to detail
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and follow direction from a supervisor
  • Availability to be on-call in the event of emergency situations; hours of work may vary depending on location.
  • Capability to perform physically demanding work, such as moving furniture or appliances during a household remediation job
  • Capability to work overhead and on a ladder or scaffold for an extended period of time
  • Ability to perform work performed in varying temperatures; temperatures may be extreme

Technical Skills:

  • Competency to utilize, maintain and service various types of equipment required for mold remediation, such as fans and power tools
  • Exceptional written communication skills in order to provide written descriptions of issues and work performed
  • Ability to inspect equipment required for mold remediation and notify supervisor of replacement equipment orders when needed
  • Microsoft Excel and Outlook are a plus, but not required
  • Ability to properly use personal protective equipment and self-care to protect against biohazardous contaminant exposure

 

Requirements:

  • Valid Driving License and pass a MVR check
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen
  • Consistently walk, stand, climb, kneel, lift, and carry 50lbs or more on a daily basis
  • Experience in the water and fire restoration industry is a plus, but not required
  • IICRC certifications preferred but not required

 

Physical Demands / Working Conditions                                                                                           

  • Required to sit, stand, bend, kneel, sometimes in tight spaces.                                              
  • Employees must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move 75 lbs.                       
  • Work is predominantly performed at a customer's property where you may encounter standing water, sewage, fire damage, smoke, mold, or other organic growth (PPE is provided).      

 

Salary: $21.00-$23.00 plus overtime and on-call bonus
