Plymouth Tube is seeking an experienced, hands-on Plant Controller to lead accounting and finance operations for one of our manufacturing facilities. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a finance professional who combines strong technical accounting expertise with business acumen and a passion for partnering with operations.

The Plant Controller will serve as a key business partner to the Plant Manager and site leadership, providing the financial insight, analysis, and leadership needed to improve performance, manage costs, and support sound business decisions.

Position Summary

Directs and oversees accounting and finance operations for a single plant within an organization. Manage financial and operating performance through month end activities, financial reporting and budgeting/forecasting. Ensure accounting department procedures and activities are in line with company objectives and all compliance requirements. The Plant Controller is a hands-on “do’er” and a business partner who is highly proactive and accustomed to successfully partnering with leadership.

Essential Responsibilities

•Partner for site leadership, pro-actively taking responsibility for budgeting, forecasting processes and business decisions
•Support plant operations with timely and accurate financial reporting and analysis of results (cost control versus budget or forecast, efficiencies & variance reporting, and providing cost forecasts)
•Maintain strong control and reporting of Capital Expenditures, in particular a large on-going expansion
•Analyze site financials with strong business acumen and guide leadership to make informed, financially sound decisions
•Oversee financial internal and external controls regarding assets (including inventory) and spend
•Recommend, implement, and measure performance against benchmarks for financial and operating performance
•Lead the month end closing and financial reporting process, including account analysis and reconciliation
•Conduct formal monthly review meetings with manufacturing and finance management to discuss plant performance
•Meets daily with the Plant Manager to discuss production and costing issues. Review labor reporting and cost, material costs, manufacturing overhead, distribution cost, and inventory levels
•Implement and ensure organizational compliance with accounting best practices, U.S. GAAP requirements, and company’s policies
•Ensure bill of material and costing accurately reflect production operations
•Responsible for the integrity and accuracy of an organization's financial data•Collaborate with site operations personnel on cost price calculations, evaluating inventory and challenging supply chain to maintain proper stock levels, complying with internal control guidelines
•Own the quoting process in collaboration with the sales organization
•Member of management team at the mill

Supervisory Responsibilities (If applicable)

• Ability to simultaneously lead and manage multiple projects
• Manage accounting and finance functions related to the business
• May supervise accountants at the mill level

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, Economics, Business or equivalent experience required.
• 7+ years of work experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in managing teams and projects.
• Certification such as CPA, CMA or MBA, preferred.
• Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and cost accounting.
• Demonstrated skill and comfort in building financial models.
• Strong business, financial acumen with demonstrated ability to provide in-depth analysis and strong track record of forecasting.
• Working knowledge of controlling large CAPEX projects is a plus
• Team player who is adaptable, flexible and comfortable presenting/communicating to various levels of the organization with a variety of goals and purposes
• High computer proficiency; specifically, with Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, worksheet functionality and use of graphs and charts.
• Experience and knowledge of an ERP system, Epicor is a plus
