We are seeking a Cook who is passionate not only about food, but also about creating a warm, nourishing environment where students feel cared for, supported, and at home. At Chrysalis, a therapeutic boarding school for adolescent girls, we believe healing happens in everyday moments - including around the table. 

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve nutritious, balanced, and appealing meals for students and staff
  • Follow established menus while contributing creative, healthy ideas
  • Accommodate dietary restrictions, allergies, and special needs
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
  • Support a positive, team-oriented environment in collaboration with clinical and residential staff
  • Occasionally involve students in appropriate kitchen or meal prep activities to build life skills

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older
  • Must hold a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalency
  • Montana Food Handler’s certification
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Must possess a valid State of Montana driver's license, maintain a clean driving record, and be able to drive for work-related purposes
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
  • Experience preparing healthy meals and accommodating dietary restrictions
  • Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be physically capable of performing essential job functions, including crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques. Training will be provided.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ year experience in a residential or institutional setting
  • Experience cooking for groups of 40+ people
  • Familiarity with youth care environments
