This position is responsible for supporting the preparation and serving of nutritious meals, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the food service area, and providing excellent customer service to students, staff, and visitors. The Food Service Worker contributes to creating a positive dining experience by performing a variety of tasks that uphold the company's standards for quality and efficiency. Key Responsibilities: - Wash and prepare vegetables to ensure all produce is fresh, clean, and ready for cooking and serving, adhering to health and safety standards. - Restock serving lines with food items, utensils, and other necessary supplies to ensure a seamless and efficient service during meal times. - Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas by performing routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces to meet hygiene regulations. - Operate the cash register accurately and efficiently, handling transactions and providing change to ensure a smooth and friendly customer experience. - Set up and break down serving lines before and after meal service, ensuring that all equipment and food items are properly arranged and stored according to company procedures. - Collaborate with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure timely and efficient meal preparation and service. - Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to food safety, personal hygiene, and customer service standards. - Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages or discrepancies to the supervisor. - Provide courteous and professional service to all customers, addressing any inquiries or concerns promptly and effectively. - Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge related to food service operations. Base Pay: $17.75 per hour Health & Welfare (H&W) Pay in Lieu of Benefits: $4.93* per hour — provided to employees who opt out of company-sponsored insurance. Total Combined Pay: $22.68 per hour*QualificationsRequired Education: - High school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Required Experience: - Previous experience in a food service or catering environment is advantageous. - Experience in handling cash transactions and operating a cash register. - Familiarity with food preparation and kitchen operations is beneficial. - Experience in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in a food service setting.
