Responsibilities

  • Create a safe and engaging classroom environment

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans

  • Support cognitive, physical, and social-emotional development

  • Use play-based learning to encourage creativity

  • Plan arts, music, storytelling, and outdoor activities

  • Observe and document children’s progress

  • Communicate with parents about milestones

  • Collaborate with staff to enhance learning

  • Maintain licensing and safety standards

  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom

Qualifications

  • Passion for early childhood education

  • Experience as a preschool or daycare teacher preferred

  • Knowledge of standards and requirements of the National Association for the Education of Young Children

  • Experience using the curriculum from Teaching Strategies in classroom instruction

  • CDA or Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education preferred (or equivalent experience)

  • Strong communication and classroom management skills

  • Patience, empathy, and creativity

  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
