Watchmaker / Watch Technician – Luxury Jewelry Store

Brinker’s Jewelers | Evansville, Indiana
Starting around $60,000/year, based on experience
Full-time | 5-day workweek | Benefits | Bonuses | Continuing Education

Brinker’s Jewelers is growing again, and we are looking for a watchmaker or watch technician who wants to build a long-term career in a serious, well-equipped watch department.

This is a great opportunity for someone who has hands-on watch repair experience and wants to keep developing their skills in a supportive environment. You do not need to be a master watchmaker on day one, but you do need to have real experience working with watches, movements, diagnostics, basic service, and repair procedures.

International candidates with 4-year college degrees are encouraged to apply.

Why This Is a Great Opportunity

At Brinker’s, you will work alongside a team with decades of watchmaking and jewelry experience. You will have access to state-of-the-art equipment, a clean room, a dedicated horology polishing room, and a team that believes in training, development, and doing the work the right way.

We are not a high-volume “take in anything” repair shop. As a luxury retailer serving the tri-state area, our watch work is focused primarily on watches we have sold or quality pieces we choose to accept from the public for service. That allows our watch department to focus on better brands, better movements, and better long-term craftsmanship.

If you are looking for a bench where you can grow, ask questions, learn from experienced people, and take pride in your work, this may be the right fit.

What You’ll Do

Depending on your experience level, responsibilities may include:

  • Diagnosing mechanical and quartz watches
  • De-casing and re-casing watches
  • Cleaning and servicing mechanical movements
  • Working with common ETA and similar mechanical calibers
  • Replacing worn or damaged components
  • Installing gaskets and crowns
  • Timing and regulating watches
  • Performing water resistance testing
  • Completing quality control checks
  • Supporting polishing, refinishing, and exterior service when appropriate
  • Maintaining clean, organized, professional bench practices

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who has worked on watches before and wants to continue growing in the trade.

Qualified candidates should have:

  • Hands-on experience with wristwatch repair or service
  • Ability to service common mechanical ETA calibers
  • Experience in diagnosing mechanical and quartz movement issues
  • Familiarity with modern wristwatch calibers
  • Strong attention to detail and patience at the bench
  • A willingness to learn and accept coaching
  • Pride in clean, careful, high-quality work
  • Good communication skills in a team environment

Formal watchmaking school, brand certifications, or CW21 certification are helpful, but not required for every candidate.

What We Offer

  • Starting pay around $60,000/year, based on experience
  • Higher compensation available for stronger technical experience
  • 5-day workweek
  • Health insurance and benefits
  • Annual bonus opportunities
  • Continuing education opportunities
  • Professional tools, equipment, and work environment
  • Supportive team with decades of experience
  • Long-term growth potential within an established luxury jewelry business
