 About the role: The Simulation and Modelling Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the team of Simulation and Modelling engineers in the design, development and validation of hardware supporting magniX’s electric propulsion systems.

 Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure alignment of design, development and lifecycle practices with aerospace industry standards such as ARP4754A and DO-254.
  • Drive the integrated design of systems for magniX’s aerospace powertrain products by developing the system performance platform and thermal management systems.
  • Leading the team to produce the necessary compliance documentation for FAA certification.
  • Support compliance with safety, reliability, and environmental qualification standards, such as DO-160 and FAA guidelines/advisory circulars, supporting the certification of magniX’s electric powertrain products.
  • Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers, including Thermal Management, System Performance, Control and Protections, Electromagnetic and Simulation, and Data Integration teams.
  • Oversee the thermal management elements within magniX’s powertrain products, from requirements capture to design, testing, and certification.

 Required Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering, 
  • 8+ years of experience in thermal management analysis and design, electrical packaging and electric motors.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop technical teams, fostering collaboration and innovation.

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience with CFD analysis, thermal and fluid modeling.
  • Knowledge of aerospace certification standards such as DO-254, DO-160, and ARP4754A.
  • Experience in managing and leading multidisciplinary engineering teams, particularly in Electrical, Power Electronics and Complex Hardware (AEH) development.
  • In-depth understanding of power electronics used in aerospace propulsion systems.

 Location: Applicants must be willing and able to commute to magniX's location in Everett, Washington.

Salary Range: $170k-$230k
