 About the role We are seeking a versatile, hands-on Technician to join our team. This is a “jack of all trades” role supporting aerospace assembly, test preparation, test execution, and general mechanical technician work across our development and production programs. The Technician will work closely with design engineering, test engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to build, prepare, and test hardware ranging from individual components to full propulsion systems.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform mechanical assembly of aerospace components, subassemblies, and full systems according to engineering drawings, work instructions, travelers, and quality standards. 
  • Prepare, set up, and tear down test articles and test stands, including instrumentation routing, sensor installation, fluid and electrical connections, and fixture installation. 
  • Set up, commission, and operate tests in dynamometer, propeller, and component-level test cells, supporting test engineering during execution and data collection. 
  • Fabricate, assemble, and modify tooling fixtures, test equipment, ground support equipment, and engineering prototypes using a broad range of fabrication tools and shop equipment. 
  • Perform general mechanical technician tasks including precision measurement, torque application, thread repair, fastener installation, and basic machining or hand-fitting as needed. 
  • Assist in engineering troubleshooting and resolve assembly, integration, and test issues as they arise. 
  • Support facility, lab, and test cell readiness, including equipment moves, setups, and routine maintenance of shop and test infrastructure. 
  • Operate forklifts, cranes, hoists, and company vehicles safely and efficiently. 
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, especially those related to rotating machinery, high voltage systems, pressurized systems, and lifting operations. 

 Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience, or equivalent training, certifications, or education, in aerospace assembly, test, or related hands-on technical work, including familiarity with quality standards and travelers. 
  • Strong mechanical assembly skills, including the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T callouts, and bills of materials. 
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, torque tools, and common shop equipment; comfort with precision measurement instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators. 
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs., move heavy pallets with a pallet jack, and stand for long periods. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience preparing and executing tests in dynamometer, propeller, or other powertrain test cells. 
  • Knowledge of safety protocols around rotating machinery and high voltage systems. 
  • Experience fabricating or modifying tooling, fixtures, and ground support equipment. 
  • Experience installing instrumentation (thermocouples, strain gauges, pressure transducers, accelerometers) and routing sensor and signal cabling. 
  • Knowledge of SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software. 
  • Electronics assembly and rework experience per IPC standards (IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, J-STD-001) is a plus. 
  • Experience operating forklifts, cranes, and company vehicles. 

 Location: Applicants must be willing and able to commute to magniX's location in Everett, Washington.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to use hands to keyboard, communicate, listen to, and interpret instructions and remain stationary for extended periods of time. This would require the ability to move around the facility and occasionally move/lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
