Tractor Driver - End Dump/Side Dump

Title: Tractor Driver 

Reports to: Driver Lead

As a Tractor Driver on the DTG Team, you will be part of a community of valued employees who work together and create an environment that is welcoming, caring and trusting. Duties/Responsibilities:

• Must be willing to learn how to safely hook up and operate a variety of hydraulic trailers, including side dump, end dump and live floor trailers.
  
• Must be able to manually roll and secure a trailer tarp using crank/handle to extend and retract the tarp across the top of the trailer.
• Must be flexible and adaptable, with the ability to operate different types of trailers on a daily basis based on operational needs.
• Must follow all safety procedures and company policies when operating and performing trailer-related task
• Must be able to operate trucks in residential, commercial, DTG recycling yards and on construction sites as well as public roadways including highways and interstates.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections.
• Communicate with dispatcher throughout the day.
• Log and track loads in our system with provided tablets.
• Keep accurate records and slips of loads each day.
• Responsible for keeping the equipment and tractor in safe working order.
• Comfortable putting chains on tires as needed/required.
• Willingness to work outside under all types of weather conditions.
• Must be able to work overtime, including some Saturdays.

Required Skills and Abilities:

• CDL Class A Certification.
• Current Medical Card.
• Must have a clean driving record and background.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.

Physical Requirements:

• Cleaning potential road hazards (e.g. debris, rocks, mud, dirt, sand, gravel, plastic, roofing, etc.) off of can slides, rails and doors as well as track bumpers, truck fenders, truck wheels and truck frame rails.
• Cleaning of potential road hazards on trucks will need to be cleaned off prior to leaving job site or yard.
• Climbing attached metal fabricated ladder on the front right of the can to inspect the interior of the can for non-approved materials, persons or animals inside.
